Push back of the standing liquid from the dead space To avoid purging the residue of sample standing in the dead space, it is possible to push it from the valve body by using an inert gas (fig. 1) or by operating the valve several times to circulate the process fluid through the valve, thus cleaning the standing area (fig. 2). The result is a directly representative sample. |
