| To take a phosgene sample |
|
| Problem / customer requirement: |
- To take a phosgene mixture sample (COCl2) and neutralize it
- To remove the purging constraints prior to the sampling.
- To have a closed sampling system
- To have a representative sample that can directly be used by the laboratory
- To have a secured system
- To accurately determine the phosgene content in the product
|
|
| BIAR's solution: |
The Columbia LT 2 chambers container. It allows to:
- Create a chemical reaction in a non breakable closed environment
- Have a precise mix of caustic soda
- Have a secure exothermic reaction
- Have a defined quantity of product containing phosgene
|
|
| Disadvantages with other means: |
Bottle:
- open system, not applicable
Piston injector :
- Because of the chemical reaction, the piston is not applicable
- Gasket consumption
- Loss of sealing.
Container :
- Difficult to have a defined quantity of product
